EPANET - Junction
Junctions are points in the network where Links come together and where water enters or leaves the Pressure Network.
In addition to the shared properties of Nodes, the junction also has the following properties:
- Calculations - are filled in by the command EPANETCALC, when it succeeds in the simulation
- Total Head - Calculated total head for the junction
- Actual Demand - Actual demand calculated for the junction
- Epanet
- Base Demand - The average or nominal demand for water by the main customer category in the junction
Base demand can be given one of two situations:
- When the network has information on demand in progress, it is given by
Base Demand = Sum(DM*ExtFic / Factor)
Where:
DM is the Demand in March calculated at each
consumption sector connected to each pipe connected to the junction
ExtFic is the dummy extent of each pipe connected to the joint
Factor is equal to 2 if the other end of the pipe is also a junction, otherwise equal to 1
- When the network does not have this information, the user must enter the value manually
- Demand Pattern - Time pattern used to characterize the time variation in base demand (above) at the join
- Secondary Demands - list of secondary demands (the main demand is given by the Base Demand property, above) for the node

- Emitter Coefficient - Discharge coefficient for emitter (sprinkler or Orifice) placed at the junction
