External References
The SOLIDOS program also works with external references (DataShortCut, if you prefer).
In the program, you can reference:
-
Device Networks
When referencing device networks, the entire network with all devices are linked to the current drawing.
For the devices to be modeled, the constructors are also referenced (
Custom Sections) of them.
-
Custom Sections
When the modelers are referenced, the blocks that are in the source drawing are added to the drawing,
as well as the Epanet curves, Epanet patterns, Swmm curves,
Swmm patterns that can be part of this custom section
-
Material Lists
All the typical sections, with the folders and subfolders are referenced, as well as the modelers
-
Consumer Sectors
The consumer sector is an isolated object, connected to devices. If you reference the networks that use it, you will see the information as in the source drawing
-
Catchment Groups
By referencing a basin group, all basins are added to the drawing. If you also link the networks to which the basins connect, you will see the results
as in original drawing
-
Epanet Curves
When referencing Epanet curves in another file, only that curve will be added to the drawing. No modelers that use it will be added.
-
Epanet Patterns
When referencing Epanet Patterns in another file, only that standard will be added to the drawing. No modelers that use it will be added.
-
Swmm Curves
When referencing Swmm curves in another file, only that curve will be added to the drawing. No modelers that use it will be added.
-
Swmm Time Series
When referencing Swmm time series in another file, only that series will be displayed. added to the drawing. Any modeler who uses it, will not be able to use it. added.
-
Swmm Patterns
By referencing Swmm patterns in another file, only that pattern will be added to the drawing. No modelers that use it will be added.
When an item is external reference, its icon changes to have
on the corner.
Thus, it is easy to identify that it is an external reference.
These items will have the following commands in their context menu:
-
Update References - updates node references
-
Promote References - inserts the references into the current drawing, breaking the outer link
-
Open Reference - opens the reference source file if found
