Solids Builder - Plane (3 points)

Plane (3 points) - creates a reference plane passing through three known points:

Planes are used in transformations of the type Mirror or solid manipulations of the type Slice. In the example below, the top of the wing side wall is cut in a plane passing through three points. These points are indicated in the figure by blue lines:

The activity Plane (3 points) has the following properties:

• Identification
  • Name - name of the activity
    The point name must follow the naming rules
  • Point 1 - name of point number 1
  • Point 2 - name of point number 2
  • Point 3 - name of point number 3
  • Show Lines - draws lines (the blue lines in the wing example) connecting the three given points to the calculated origin of the plane (which will be at the centroid of the triangle)
  • Object Visible - indicates whether or not the point should be drawn in the preview

Note that the drawing represents a rectangle for the plane itself. This rectangle is merely illustrative, it has the function of indicating where the plane is.

If the text gets too big/small, or the sphere that represents the point gets too big or small, use the buttons ( A, a, , ) at the top of the screen to change the preview
