Sources

In the DDM program, the sources, or material offerings, are the excavated materials.

These materials have the following properties:

  1. Name - Name of the source or destination item, examples: Cut, Loan, Undercut, Mole
  2. Type - Informs the type of the source. Can be:
  3. Code - Item code. It will be used to form the name of the items in source ranges. Examples:
  4. Group - Group of the source item. It will have effect on the source ranges of the source items. When to use: If you want the first, second, and third cuts to be grouped, having a unique name when intersecting cutting intervals.common groupings are: Cut, Undercut, Borrow pit. Note that each of them can be in first, second or third category. Note also that this column is only available, if you are in the settings box, you have the option Group sources and demands checked. Examples:
  5. Homogenization factor - Is the relation between the volume of the material in the natural state and the volume it will have after being compacted:

    Fh = Vc / Va

    Where:
    Vc is the volume of the material before being removed from the natural state
    Va, is the volume of the material after being compacted
    Fh, is the homogenization factor
  6. Expansion factor - Is the relationship between the volume of loose material and the volume of the material in its natural state:

    Ep = Vs / Vc

    Where:
    Vc is the volume of the material before being removed from the natural state
    Vs is the volume of loose material, or to be transported
    Ep, it is the factor of expansion or blistering
  7. Geometric Volume - Volume of material in the natural state, before being removed
  8. Equation - used by DDMLINK , to import the areas of Material List. You can only edit if the program is working with DDMLINK and Civil 3D. Double-click the cell to open Equation Editor
  9. Distance - Informs you how to move away from the rectangle of the axis

For each source item also report, if any:

  1. Segmentation by source type
  2. Areas and volumes
  3. Ranges

If any value is invalid, the text will be in red, indicating the error.
