Options - Flow

The properties related to this category are:

• Gravity Acceleration (g) - By default 9.81 m/s², do not change this value unless you know what you are doing
• Water Density (Gamma) - By default 10 N/m², do not change this value unless you know what you are doing

Flow settings control variables that influence hydraulic calculations:

• Wet Area (Am) - area of the section where there is runoff
• Wet Perimeter (Pm) - perimeter of the section in contact with water
• Free Surface (B) - Width of the flow blade that is in contact with the atmosphere
• Hydraulic radius (Rh), given by: Rh = Am / Pm
• Tractive Tension (T), given by: T = Gamma * Rh * Inc
• Hydraulic height (yh), given by: yh = Am / B
• Froude number (Fr), given by: Fr = Vesc / (g * yh) ^ 0.5

Where:
Vesc: longitudinal flow speed
Inc: longitudinal slope of the device
