Installation

To install SOLIDOS (valid for all versions of Civil 3D supported by SOLIDOS: Civil 3D 2016 and higher), follow these steps:

  1. CLOSE CIVIL 3D, if it is open
  2. Unzip ALL the package files in the same folder
  3. Run the installer
  4. By default, the plugin installation location is:

    C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\SOLIDOS.bundle

  5. If you change this location, you will have to manually load the plugin in Civil 3D. In this case:
    1. Open your Civil 3D program
    2. Type SECURELOAD on the command line and enter option 0
    3. Enter the command NETLOAD on the command line
    4. Select the compatible dll:
      Civil 3D DLL to load
      Civil 3D 2020 ./dotnet_4/SOLIDOS_2020.dll
      Civil 3D 2021 ./dotnet_4/SOLIDOS_2021.dll
      Civil 3D 2022 ./dotnet_4/SOLIDOS_2021.dll
      Civil 3D 2023 ./dotnet_4/SOLIDOS_2021.dll
      Civil 3D 2024 ./dotnet_4/SOLIDOS_2021.dll
      Civil 3D 2025 ./dotnet_8/SOLIDOS_2025.dll
    5. To load the tool MENU, type SMENU at the command line

Note: Civil 3D is dependent on the unit system used (Toolspace / Settings / Drawing Settings / Units And Zone / Drawing Units):

The SOLIDOS program is codependent on the unit system, as it stores the default or calculated values for all managed elements in the unit system used. Therefore, when importing catalogs, styles, etc., make sure you are using files with equal measurement systems

If the plugin does not load or the help file appears blank:

  1. CLOSE CIVIL 3D if it is open
  2. Locate the folder where you installed the plugin
  3. Right click on the DLL (see compatibility table) and on the help files (./en-us/*.chm), click properties and click the Unblock button (IF IT EXISTS)
